The Ecology of Self

2025 dates coming soon. Sign up below to be notified when we have details to share.

What we all need is to learn to live without walls. We have to let the illusion of separation fall away and replace it with active, lively engagement of every aspect of our lives.
— Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams

The Ecology of Self is a 6-day, 5-night adventure into deepening our relationship with Mother Earth. Our stories of separation from the Earth and each other are the seeds of the global challenges we face. Let’s shift the story.

Together we delve into the dynamic interdependence of self, community, and the living land, framed within a larger conversation about regenerative sustainability, equity, and well-being.

Along our journey, we build community, practice nature-centered meditation, explore embodiment practices, enjoy tea ritual and expressive arts, and engage in vibrant discussion. Creating a strong culture of belonging and inclusivity is a crucial part of promoting individual and planetary flourishing.

The Ecology of Self can help participants consider their unique gifts, backgrounds, and life situations to envision actionable steps towards promoting a more socially and ecologically harmonious world.

This program is perfect for those looking to reconnect with Mother Earth in warm and welcoming community.

Our Past Retreats

Monteverde 2023 with Shayá, Bainawá, and Maiko Txana Kupi Huni Kuin (the “True People”) of the Pinuya Village near the border of Brazil and Peru. We are deeply grateful for them, their wisdom, and their joyous message of healing. They are pictured in the back row right, along with their representative and translator Marcos Vinicius (Vinny) Romão of Associação Povos da Terra.

Monteverde, Costa Rica, June 2022. We were deeply honored that Abuelo Carlos Huizton and Paula Colandí joined us at Finca Camino Nuevo.
